There is no Gantt option when creating a view from an External list… Is this possible?

Yep you can I think.
Click on the ribbon, under the “list” entry. There should be a section called gantt which contains zoom in and zoom out buttons 🙂

Thanks so much for this. No one likes to use project here so I’ve been looking for a solution to providing a Gantt chart for the stakeholders other than excel. Pitty you can’t shrink sub-tasks to get a high level view. Or can you?
